Operation Lifesaver "Common Sense" campaign
I never would have thought I'd get to work on so many railroad safety campaigns in my lifetime. It's surprising how many different approaches you can actually take for such a specific cause– a cause that seems like it shouldn't need promoting, because, well, it is Common Sense™ afterall.

Summer of... playing with type
A fun type treatment I made today at work. Hoping to use it for a summer camp project, Camp Airy & Louise.
City Year
This piece was a mural idea for City Year.
At Exit 10, I've created a lot of templates for City Year murals. It's like making coloring book art, only for huge walls. In another life, I think I'm a mural artist, painting rainbows in elementary schools, wearing professional water-resistant jumpers to cover my jeans– oh wait, that really did happen, all throughout grade-school.

CSX Safety Campaign Up and Running in Baltimore & DC!
Keep an eye out for these ads if you're in the Baltimore or DC area! They should be up for the next couple of months, and hopefully will make your subway experience a little more fun. This campaign was created to spread the word of railroad safety for CSX, especially to pedestrians. The ads stress that life is too fun to waste by being careless around train tracks. Copy written by Andres Foldvari.

BP Solar Pitch
Ad campaign idea that I art-directed/illustrated– executed in one day! Research has shown that people are reluctant to make their homes completely solar. So with this idea, we focused on starting small with solar energy– using enough to power appliances like a lamp, a stereo, etc.

Perfect Gift: Personalized Temporary Tattoos
We're having Secret Santas at work, and I decided to make temporary tattoos for my recipient. She loves Rush, the Sims, her husband, and is the AE for Glory Days Grill... so I knew where to start. View the gift after the jump.
Toy Punks Poster - in its final glory
Here is the final Toy Punks poster, the result of my collaboration with Amanda Shepherd. We released the special edition posters to promote the Atomic Books screening of Toy Punks - a documentary about the vinyl toy industry. Each poster was screenprinted by hand on pink pleather, grommeted and tagged, and then stitched to a cardstock backing.

Silkscreen
Silkscreening on pleather can be such a nightmare!
I have a love-hate relationship with silkscreening. It can be super frustrating at times, but when a print comes out crisp and perfect, it really is magical. Me and my friend Amanda have had many sleepless nights this past week. We're trying to make a deadline for the Toy Punks movie premier at Atomic Pop next week, hand-silk-screening posters, which we then plan to stitch on the borders, grommet, and attach a separately silk-screened hang tag. But it seems like we've hit a bump in the road with every part of the process for this project...
Problem #1: The stencil was blurry
Solution: Use GLASS not plexiglass on top of the lightbox
Problem #2: The stencil was still blurry!
Solution: Do NOT use a Speedball screen with a 30-something mesh-count. Thank you Plaza Art Supply for your 300-count miracle screens.
Problem #3: The pleather sticks to the screen when you lift it and messes with registration.
Solution: Spray mount that pleather to the table!
Problem #4: This looks great, but why is it looking terrible after 20 prints?
Solution: Run to Rite Aid to pick up some Glycerin to slow down the ink drying.
Problem: The frustration has consumed us.
Solution: Have a Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale - why not? The name seems like a remedy.
Problem: This tastes awful.
Solution: Laugh hysterically until you find yourself sitting on the kitchen floor, nostalgic for sleep.
But I guess all our trouble makes our success that much more rewarding.
Check out the premier of Toy Punks at Atomic Pop on December 7th.

Woody Myers
One of my favorite things about my new Baltimore office is that it's located on the 8th floor of the Natty Boh Tower (Natty Boh is Baltimore's cheap beer marked by the amiable one-eyed mascot. Many-a-night is spent hanging out on the large rooftop that we (sort of) have access to. Another one of my favorite things about this office is the Woody Allen mask in my boss' office.

B2B Direct Mail Campaign
PTG is an IT consulting firm–they install servers and back up files for businesses. This direct-mail piece would be addressed to IT employees at companies that could use PTG’s services. A kit is hidden in a flowchart folder that leads you to a pouch of goodies geared toward one of two ego-driven personalities: the IT Genius or the IT Hustla’. The IT Genius persona is for the “quiet, behind-the-scenes type.” It helps IT guys take advantage of the fact that most people have no idea what their job entails. Whether it’s pretending to be working when they’re not, taking off time while at “Data Saving Seminars,” or just amusing themselves by making co-workers do unnecessary things. The IT Hustla’ persona is for the “flashy, big-money-baller type.” Someone who might put up a sign that says, “Step into my Rawfice” or make co-workers bow down before they reboot their computer.
